Simple pleasures of life

Move to Vijayawada has been brutal. I don’t understand the language. The move was in the middle of my field work so it was intense and less planned. Shift from a big city to a small town, though not as troublesome, still bothers once in a while. The garden is non-existant.

Although I should wait for monsoon, I decided to throw some Palak seeds in the empty trough and put it on the balcony railing. Summer is brutal here. But in two days, I see sprouts. Not just palak but probably the self seeded amaranth as well. The different shades of green, a red in between, probably the laal maath seeds from Harali. It is mesmerising to see it everyday first thing in the morning. Be it New York, Delhi, or Vijayawada, these simple pleasures of life have been a constant comfort.
